Stereolithography

Description

Stereolithography (SLA) is a generative layering process, which belongs to additive manufacturing and during which a homogeneous workpiece with a high density is constructed layer by layer out of liquid resin. The materials are based on acrylate or epoxy resin.

The liquid resin located in a vat is distributed by a blade and cured selectively with the help of a laser beam. The process takes place vertically layer by layer, whereby the construction platform is repeatedly slightly lowered and a new layer is added. At the same time, support structures prevent the part from moving during production.
